About CostCheckGPT

CostCheckGPT is being built to help people understand contractor bids before they sign them.

The idea came from a recurring construction problem: owners are often asked to make a major financial commitment using a document they are not equipped to fully evaluate.

A bid can contain accurate work, unclear work, missing work, allowances, exclusions, arithmetic problems, and project assumptions on the same page.

CostCheckGPT is designed to organize that information into something the owner can understand and act on.

Why CostCheckGPT exists

A contractor estimate is more than a price.

It is a description of what the contractor believes the project includes.

That description affects the contract value, the change-order risk, the payment schedule, and the owner's eventual project cost.

CostCheckGPT is being built to make those assumptions visible before the contract is signed.

Who founded CostCheckGPT?

CostCheckGPT was founded by Richard Golding.

Richard has more than 20 years of experience working in construction and renovation.

He operates NYC Build Remodel in New York City under DCWP Home Improvement Contractor license #2135146 and California Construction & Remodeling Experts under California CSLB General Building Contractor license #1130438.

His experience reviewing contractor scopes, budgets, allowances, project conditions, and renovation risks became the foundation for the CostCheckGPT bid review methodology.
